While practicing in the atrium, we were told to focus on proportion. I found this extremely difficult as my mind sees the whole box, while my eyes do not. Letting go of what your brain is telling you and understanding what your eyes are telling you has proven to be extremely difficult for me.
In this drawing, the proportions on my box drawing were better, however, the drawing of the background isn't depicted correctly. The use of hatching helped to ground the box.
This was a more difficult view of the box while I was drawing it, though I'm happy with how it turned out. I could definitely use more practice on drawing and shading stairs.
I enjoyed drawing this box the most because it did not have a lid and you could see down inside of it. I also feel that this drawing showed the background the best and had the best shading to ground the box.
