My Demo House Floor Plans
I had a lot of fun doing these floor plans as we were allowed to be more creative. I decided to title my demo house as "Luxury Loft" because its a cute, small oasis. I struggled with laying out the furniture in an efficient way. I do think my measurements and lines came out better than the "My Swamp House" floor plan though.

Doyle Chapter 1 and 2 Understandings
I found the section labeled "Shade and Shadow" in chapter 1 to be most helpful. I never thought to think of shade and shadow as two different things while drawing.Remembering that all the shadows of all the verticals in the drawing will fall in the same direction is important. I feel that I sometimes struggle with this concept while shading my drawings so keeping this in mind will definitely be helpful. Casting edges should always be considered when shading certain surfaces. Sitting down and analyzing where the sun is will be truly helpful.
In chapter 2, I found the "Accents" section to be extremely helpful in that it gave useful tips when trying to achieve final touches. Metallic pens and markers can be extremely beautiful in a drawing when working as small touches and glisten convincingly as they catch the light. I think this would be extremely helpful when I am rendering a kitchen or bathroom. The only downfall that I read about is that they will not copy effectively on a color photocopier and must be added to each copy.

Material exploration
While experimenting with my markers, I found that I enjoy using them on trace paper and vellum the most since they blend much easier on these soft papers. Bristol gives the markers a harsher, more clean-cut look which can be nice if that's the appeal you're looking for. I can see how the blending tool could come useful when you're trying to achieve a tint of a certain hue. The blending marker is also helpful when trying to convey your colors in a not-so harsh way.

Bedroom Rendering
I definitely struggled with this assignment when it came to perspective and showing the lighting condition. Getting the right shade of purple for the wall was difficult for me since I had mainly bright hues in my set of colored pencils. I first laid down the warm gray 40% prismacolor marker and then blended purple on top. I feel that the wall could use more blending, especially in the corner, but over all I'm happy with the color I achieved. I also like some of the wrinkles in the fabric that I shaded on the bed spread. It was challenging because of the pattern, but I believe that some areas are very successful in that. When trying this again, I would work on my shading so that objects seem more 3-dimensional and realistic.

Color worksheet exploration
I benefited mostly from the first worksheet out of the two of these. It helped me to truly grasp the concept between the hue, shade, and tint of a color. For example: the tint of yellow isn't as much of a difference to its hue as the shade of yellow is. However, blue is the opposite, to where the shade of blue is much closer to its natural hue than the tint of blue is. The second worksheet taught me how to blend my new color pencils nicely and in a way so that you can get the exact hue you're looking for. These wheels are also great to look at when looking at complimentary colors, primary colors, secondary colors, analogous colors, split complimentary colors, and intermediate colors.
